The terms that govern use of our website and services.

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Pool Pals website (poolpals.co.nz) and the pool care services provided by Pool Pals Limited ("Pool Pals", "we", "us"). By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

1. About Pool Pals

Pool Pals Limited is a New Zealand company providing residential pool maintenance and related services across Auckland. Our registered details are available on request.

2. Using Our Website

Our website is provided for informational purposes and to allow you to enquire about our services. You agree not to:

  • Use the website in any way that is unlawful or harmful
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the website
  • Transmit spam, malicious code, or other harmful content
  • Reproduce or redistribute content from our website without written permission

3. Our Services

Pool Pals provides residential pool care services including regular maintenance, one-off cleans, green pool recovery, and pool health checks. Specific service terms (pricing, frequency, inclusions, and exclusions) are outlined at the time of quoting and confirmed in your service agreement.

We service North Shore, East Auckland, Central Auckland, and South Auckland. We do not service commercial or aquatic facility pools.

4. Pricing and Payment

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST. Current pricing is displayed on our pricing page. Prices may change from time to time — any changes to your plan pricing will be communicated in advance.

For regular maintenance plans, invoices are issued monthly. Payment is due within 7 days of invoice date unless otherwise agreed. For one-off services, payment is due on completion.

5. Service Cancellation

For 12-month maintenance plans, cancellation is subject to the terms in your individual service agreement. We ask for reasonable notice (typically 4 weeks) before cancellation. One-off services can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice.

6. Access to Your Property

To perform our services, our technicians require safe and reasonable access to your pool and equipment. You agree to provide access on scheduled service days and to inform us of any access restrictions or hazards. We are not liable for delays caused by access being unavailable.

7. Our Liability

We carry public liability insurance and take care to perform our services to a professional standard. However, we are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing pool or equipment defects not identified at the start of our service relationship
  • Damage caused by equipment failure unrelated to our maintenance activities
  • Water chemistry changes caused by events outside our control (heavy rain, neighbour's chemicals, etc.) between scheduled visits
  • Indirect or consequential losses arising from any service issue

Our liability for any claim is limited to the value of the services provided in the relevant period.

8. Chemical Inclusion Policy

Basic chemicals (salt, chlorine, hydrochloric acid up to 20kg/L per month) are included in all 12-month contract maintenance plans. Chemicals for one-off or casual services are charged at cost. If your pool requires chemicals significantly above the standard inclusion threshold, we will discuss this with you before proceeding.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and layout — is the property of Pool Pals Limited or its content suppliers. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any of it without written permission.

10. Third-Party Services

Our website uses third-party services including Google Analytics, Formspree (contact forms), and ALTCHA (spam protection). Use of these tools is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by New Zealand law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the last update. Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
